Through the Grapevine
There were a few metaphors within this chapter. Pick a metaphor and explain it's meaning.
one of the metaphors in the charter pin in the ballon mean like she or he just told you and you wrong “that was fine because i hated it when everything revolved around what lucy knew and side.” one the metaphors that i used is go jump off a big bed.
One of the metaphors in this chapter is dangle the carrot what dangle the carrot mean is that Lucy was like i know some thing and they wanted to know what she had know. An example is that life is a rolster what that mean is that life is bad.
The metaphor i'm choosing is she was “Dangling the carrot”. I think “dangling the carrot” means that she was hanging onto the news so the other girls wouldn't know so she could feel special. For example when my brother gave me hints that we got the new halo 4 so i figured it out because he dangled the news to long.
Oh Dikota. I can see him giving you hints to getting the new game. I bet Halo 4 is pretty fun. Is that for the PS4? I don't think we have that one for rent at Family Video yet.
The metaphors in this chapter was Dangling a carrot that Pa would say to the girls, Dog’s ears, Pin in the balloon is what Delphine did to Lucy, and the last one i Hot and Cold. For example i would tell my brother “ Go break a leg.” and that means good job and/or go get them.
The metaphor (he,she) was dangling a carrot means that you are trying to antagonize or to pick on somebody to see if they can find out. it often makes the other person curious.
One metaphor that I found in Through the Grapevine is dangling a carrot it does not mean they are dangling a carrot in front of your face it means if you like something and it will make you do something they will be hanging it in front of your face.
one metaphor i found is hot and cold mean when you get close to somebody or when you find somebody and you got to say is im getting hot or cold and cold mean when you ain”t getting close to nobody.
One of the metaphors in the chapter “Through the Grapevine” was “She (Lucy Raleigh) hated it when i stuck a pin in her balloon”That metaphor meant that if Lucy was talking and telling people good news she didn't' like it when Delphine interrupted her.
One metaphor that I found is in Through the Grapevine is where it said “Pin in the balloon” which meant when you're talking to someone and you think your right and someone comes and interrupts you and tells your wrong. And they told you whats up.
The metaphor I chose is pin in the balloon or burst your bubble means that you just told the the truth or told them whats up.
ReplyDeleteOne metaphor in the chapter is dangling a carrot and it means she is teasing them or getting them interested in what someone said.
ReplyDeleteThe metaphor in this chapter that is pin in the balloon means something like you just get in someones conversation and you ruin it.

ReplyDeleteSycoya. I like the example you gave about when your mom says something about going on a trip. That would get my attention too!

ReplyDeleteGood word choice with antagonize. Are you related to Merriam Webster? Haha. I guess you're just related to Miriam.
